An aerospace trade show and B2B meetings are no longer limited to an exhibit hall where visitors wander between booths. Several organizers now build in a structured business-meeting component, separate from the trade show itself, to maximize partnership opportunities among the companies present.

The Aerospace Defence and Security Expo, held in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on August 6 and 7, 2026, illustrates this shift well. Organized by the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada under the theme of collaboration between industry and government, the event brought together company leaders, government representatives and the Canadian Armed Forces around a program combining conferences, an exhibit hall and sponsored B2B meetings.

This article analyzes how ADSE 2026 structured this B2B component, and what other sector-specific trade show organizers can take away from it.
