The Trade Commissioner Service “Innovate with Canada” B2B Matchmaking Program was a hybrid networking event held during Collision 2022 conference. The aim of this event was to encourage business between Canadian tech companies and 250+ international buyers, aided by Trade Commissioners from around the globe.
B2B/2GO is a white-label networking platform, which can be personalized to match the branding and networking parameters of each event. We stand out by our ability to adapt to our clients’ needs, all the while providing an intuitive environment backed by a concierge service that stands out in the industry.
Our client’s objective was to offer a flexible hybrid networking platform that allowed virtual and face to face meetings, matchmaker profiles and a mouldable registration form to collect specific information from their attendees. We worked extensively with our client at the start of the project to review and tweak our functionalities to meet their criteria.
In the last years, our technology has evolved to address the ever-changing climate of the industry. Our platform has been designed with this in mind; organizers can mold their networking around both virtual and in-person timetables, act as a matchmaker by sending attendees personalized recommendations and even schedule meetings on their behalf!
For instance, the meeting schedule included time slots in the early morning and late evening where only virtual meetings could be booked. This was particularly important for attendees, such as Japanese attendees, as it allowed them to meet companies located in Eastern time zones, resulting in no geographical limitations, reduced travel costs and an increase in their ROIs. During event hours (9AM to 5PM), attendees could book hybrid meetings; when scheduling a meeting, each party chose if they were attending virtually or in-person. If both attendees were attending in-person, a table was assigned to their meeting, and if both or one attendee were attending virtually, a virtual meeting room was assigned. Attendees could also change their attendance preference at all times.
Our team was onsite to assist both virtual and in-person meetings. Even with reminders, some participants loose track of time and a meeting can be saved through pro-active support. Worst-case scenario, if a person is stood up, a representative will offer alternatives to re-book.
With the matchmaker profiles, key players can monitor their delegates’ activity, meeting statistics and even plan meetings on their behalf. Furthermore, they are able to send their delegates carefully hand-picked profile recommendations from the platform.
We also developed a highly customizable registration form. Dependent on whether the attendee was an international buyer/investor or a Canadian company, they would be prompted to answer a list of questions chosen by the client. Their answers could appear on their public profiles on the platform or solely in the database documents sent to the client after the project.
Overall, the features of our technology were very well catered to their event and positively contributed to the economic growth of Canadian companies. Above all, the backbone of B2B/2GO is our user support. Not only can attendees reach us by phone, email or chat with any inquiries, we also offer personalized concierge service before and during events. Our team is present at events to take attendance, follow-up with absentees and ensure all meetings take place.
With companies attending from over 40 countries, the client noted attendee population growth (KPIs). Furthermore, our hybrid schedule successfully contributed to the networking experience of attendees. Lastly, our event support resulted in an almost perfect meeting attendance rate and excellent rating in the quality of meetings.
We are extremely proud to have risen to the challenge and delivered results which exceeded our clients’ expectations!
